DutyMan

Those who have served on the Club’s committees know how difficult it is to keep track of the duty rotas because we allow people to swap their duties to suit their own needs.  However we have all experienced the frustration of trying to find a suitable swap because we call people who have already swapped away from our target day.  The Committee too can never be sure who is supposed to be on duty because of these swaps.

In order to improve this situation we have decided to try a new method.  The duty rotas will be loaded onto a website called DutyMan.  Many other Sailing Clubs like our own use this successfully.

DutyMan will:

• Always be available on line for members to inspect
• Issue notices and reminders of your duties direct to your mailbox
• Allow you to arrange your swap online
• It will always be up-to-date so the Committee can manage the duties better

It is recognised that not everyone is up to speed with the internet. For you the old process of arranging your own swap will apply, but you need to inform nominated individuals of the change so it can be recorded on the master rota for others to see.

Please try to use the new system – this is a constant source of problems for your Committee in the past. Other clubs have benefited so let’s hope we can too. A guide is available.
