Training at Scaling Dam is supervised by the Principal RYA trainer for the club. The club has been a RYA Training Centre since 1991 and runs RYA dinghy (adults and young people), powerboat and first aid training courses for the benefit of it’s membership and welcomes new members who wish to participate. Because our instructors are unpaid volunteers, our course fees are lower than commercial establishments, but we do expect trainees to join the club before participating. Membership will be valid for twelve months from the date of joining.
On the courses we provide all the equipment you need, but recommend coming in clothes that you are happy to get wet, and that you have a change of clothes. Ideally we recommend a wet suit as this is the most suitable form of clothing for Dinghy Sailing.
### Please note: All our 2017 courses are now full (with waiting lists!). However, you are welcome to join the club to take part in other activities (e.g. kayaking, paddle-boarding, etc) or to bring and sail your own boat. If you would like to learn to sail in 2018, please contact us. We will update this page when the 2018 courses have been planned ###
